"AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. How they managed to get 4 stars for this mess is beyond me.
Firstly, money was stolen from my room while I was at breakfast on my second day there and the only people who knew I wasn’t in the room were their employees (we had to let them know our room number at breakfast booth). After multiple back and forth with the manager Natalia and other receptionist, they WOULDN’T tell me who was in my room besides me on that day (I had a DND sign on the door) so in the end I had to deal with the police. Mind you, this happened on Monday and no information, solution or even an apology was offered even though I stayed there until Saturday that week. Natalia the manager was completely unapologetic, didn’t offer any solutions and was acting very rude, almost trying to make me the problem, cutting me off when trying to speak with her. After 3 days of being tossed from morning to evening receptionist without any help, I went to the police. I was utterly disappointed by their treatment and wouldn’t wish this upon anyone.
Secondly, bathroom was dirty and there was brown water running out from the sink & from the shower most of the days. When I took the DND sign off only for one day, room wasn’t really cleaned, only bed was made up, trash was taken out and that’s about it. No fresh towels, toilet paper or nothing.
On one day there wasn’t any running water in the rooms at all and the experience with the receptionist was poor, once again. There was a girl with longer hair who seemed to be new and she basically gave me 3 different reasons in 5 min, why there is no water. They were checking in new guests at that time and didn’t even notify them about the water issue, even trying to shush the ones who were complaining at that exact time. This girl also took 45 min to check in a group of 8 people even though we were alone at the reception upon our arrival so we barely made it to diner.
The only person who seems to know what he’s doing, is kind and does his job well is Jamie.
Food was ok but once the hotel filled up a little bit there was chaos in dining room and their team seemed to be all over the place. Dirty tables, liquids spill all over the floor and instead of mopping, they just put a sign ‘be careful’ on the floor.
If you locked your card in the room or had any other reason to request a new one, they didn’t even ask for your name, just the room number. Meaning basically anyone could enter your room. This is a huge security concern!!!
I could go on with other issues that arose during our 7 day stay. Horrible check out experience, no amenities in the room except the TV. There aren’t even any hooks in bathroom for your towels. Poor quality shower gel & shampoo. No hot water kettle. One member of out group also seemed to have her room ‘explored’ when we were out despite the DND sign on the door so yeah, they have SERIOUS SECURITY ISSUES. Other members also complained about dirty rooms and poor service in general.
I’ve been travelling for 15 years and truly seen it all, but this was next level. I stayed in better 3 star hotels in Kyrgyzstan.
If you can, I strongly advise you to stay as far away from Alua Leo hotel in Palma as you can"
