"Our recent stay at the hotel was, unfortunately, quite a mixed experience. While there were some redeeming features, several aspects fell well short of expectations.
The overall food standard was VERY disappointing. Although there was always a fair variety, most meals were a struggle; food was overcooked and dry. The best thing to eat were the poolside snacks- toasties and cheesy chips. Even the burgers were like cardboard. But, we did have a couple of nice dishes - breakfast was always a good one as they cooked it lovely and the chicken was cooked well. The main restaurant has a lovely outside patio area both overlooking the pool and on the main street.
Navigating the hotel itself proved more challenging than it should have been. The lack of clear signage made finding our way around the complex frustrating, especially since the layout is quite spread out.
The room we stayed in was very basic and in need of some TLC. The main door didn’t lock properly. The AC worked well and there was plenty of storage for clothes. But, we regularly found different bugs in the room. The beds themselves were comfortable, however as they were two singles pushed together, they kept sliding apart. ‘Mind the gap’🤣. The airers are really useful and the fridge was clean. Room cleaners came every other day. Shower was big and loved the fact it has a bigger & smaller shower head and temperature was good.
Wi-Fi connectivity was another issue, which we knew about from reviews. Not a major thing for some but, the signal frequently dropped out, and it required to keep logging back in.
The pools - only one pool was very mildly heated, while the others were super cold. The atmosphere around the pool could have been much better managed because the staff seemed more interested in their phones than in supervising the area. It needed staff to go around and collect cups. Although there are places to put them, a lot of pepe left them moving around. It was frustrating to see that 99% of the sunbeds were “reserved” early in the morning, with towels left on them for hours, often with no one using them. To top it off, at one point, a baby had an ‘number 2’ by the pool, and the attendant/ life guard? just sat and watched.
Evening entertainment was another low point. It was chaotic, poorly organised, and basically non-existent, which was beyond a real disappointment.
On a more positive note (because there really are some. Just trying to leave an honest and hopefully helpful to others review), the drinks were generous in measure and offered a fair selection. The lady with short, blonde hair who worked in the B complex pool bar, was always very friendly, happy and quick to assist.
The location is quite good, the area is quiet and not too far to go for facilities as there are shops / restaurants within walking distance. Also, the main town & beach are about a 15-20 minute walk away.
We understand that it’s a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. But overall, while there were a few positives, we wouldn’t rush to stay again but, wouldn’t completely disregard returning."
