"Extremely Disappointing Stay -
We arrived at the hotel after a smooth flight, feeling excited to start our family holiday. Sadly, things went downhill almost immediately.
At check-in, we were given only one room instead of two, despite our booking clearly showing two rooms for a family of four. The first room had just one double bed and a single sofa bed — completely unsuitable for us. We had to walk all the way back to reception with our luggage and two tired children to get the second room we had paid for. No one offered to help or apologise, and we were simply pointed in the direction of our rooms.
When we asked about dinner, we were told the restaurant closed at 9:45 p.m., so we rushed there for food at 9:30pm. When we arrived, we were told no fresh food was available. Instead, we were given some very dry chicken and turkey that looked and tasted like it had been sitting there for days. It was inedible and disappointing. All other food had been taken away.
The next morning, we tried to speak with the easyJet representative for advice, but he was more interested in selling excursions than providing information about the hotel. We also went to the 10:30 a.m. meeting that was advertised as a welcome and information session, but no one showed up. Several other families were waiting too, and when we asked reception, they had no idea what we were talking about — even though it was printed on the hotel’s own leaflet.
The pool and waterpark area also had problems. We weren’t told how to get towels until we were sent back to reception to pay a deposit. Once at the waterpark, we found there were only four small blue floats and two large yellow ones for around 60/70 guests. People had to wait a long time for their turn. To make matters worse, the floats constantly deflated, and the lifeguard spent most of his time re-inflating them rather than supervising swimmers, which didn’t feel very safe. The figure-eight pool water was freezing cold, so we could barely use it.
The restaurant was another major letdown. It was supposed to open at 7:00pm but food was never ready on time. The setup was chaotic and unhygienic — flies landing on food, dirty or chipped plates, and cutlery that often hadn’t been properly cleaned. The drink machines were surrounded by fruit flies and often didn’t work. The only positive was the bottled water, which was freely available.
The food itself was repetitive and often cold. There was some variety, but nothing particularly appealing. Guests were told they could only have two slices of pizza per person, often queues of 15/20 people which felt stingy for an all-inclusive hotel. The “all-inclusive” bar stopped serving free drinks after 11 p.m., and anything premium had to be paid for separately.
The entertainment was loud and very much geared toward French guests, with staff clearly prioritising them over others. The music by the main pool was blaring (so loud) from 10 a.m. onwards, making it difficult to relax. We even saw a man hand a waiter a packet of cigarettes and, in return, receive a premium bottle of whiskey — something we were told wasn’t available, we wanted a bottle of lemonade for four of us by the pool without having to worry about flies etc.
The rooms were old, dark, and in need of maintenance. The TV barely worked, paint was peeling, and both rooms lost all water completely on our last day. The other room was full of flies, which frightened our daughter so much that she didn’t want to sleep there. The floors were dirty, and the outdoor pavements were uneven — our daughter tripped twice. The pillow had a pin in and stabbed me whilst I was sleeping. Both rooms had no sunshine and views were awful and flooded outside most days (asked at reception to change but they were fully booked).
On departure day, we asked about luggage storage and were told to leave our bags in an open area by a fire exit — completely unsecured. The toilets were closed for 6 of the 7 days for males by the swimming pool and there were no private facilities to change clothes if you wanted to use the pool before leaving. When we asked for a late checkout, we were refused, even though the hotel was clearly half-empty.The cleaner was using a substance to clean the pool area and then sweeping the dirty water back into the pool.
One thing worth noting: we did read the reviews before booking and were initially reassured by them. However, after speaking to some regular guests at the hotel, they informed us that the hotel had recently been taken over or placed under new management. According to them, the previous team had been very helpful, friendly, and organised — completely different from what we experienced. These returning guests told us they had stayed several times before but that this would be their last visit, as the standards had dropped dramatically under the new management.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing stay. The hotel is poorly managed, lacks basic hygiene, and offers very little in the way of service or care. The only positives were the bottled water and the occasional decent meal, but those are small comforts in an otherwise stressful experience.
I would rate this hotel 3 out of 10 and would not recommend it to families or anyone expecting a proper all-inclusive resort. Save yourself the disappointment — this hotel simply isn’t worth it."
