"In response to some of the reviews giving 1 or 2 stars mainly due to the wind... Tenerife is an island in the Atlantic ocean, it can be a little windy as a result of the trade winds. What it also is, is on the same latitude as the Sahara desert, and will almost certainly be warm enough, even in November that this wind will keep you from overheating.
The hotel itself is brilliant. We spent a week at the start of November as a family of 4 with a 1 and 4 year old.
Check in was smooth for us. We'd read it can be busy and also saw some queues while we were there but we were first off our bus, straight up to reception and within minutes we had our wrist band keys for the room and been given some useful information about the hotel without going overkill and we're on our way. The wrist band keys were really useful knowing you never had to check who had the keycard all the time.
The food is great. Lots of options in the buffet with the usual different themes every night. Something for everyone, there always seems to be pizza and burgers if you don't want the 'theme' and a couple of tapas which were always worth a look.
The 3 alacarte restaurants are brilliant for an all inclusive as well. We've been to loads of similar hotels in Mallorca, Turkey, Egypt and Mexico with and without kids and this is up there with any of them. The highlight, especially if you have young kids, is the make your own pizzas in the Italian. The staff were so good with our 2 and made the experience for them and us.
The entertainment through the day is plentiful. Ours were just on the young side for most of it but the eldest still managed to join in whenever she wanted to. Slime making was her highlight. Loads of pool games, water carpet etc and a foam party on one of the days was good fun.
The evening shows weren't our favourite although they are an incredible performance, for us and especially with the age of our kids, we'd prefer something like holiday village or biomar hotels that we've been to where it's more informal and can have a drink while the kids can run about. If you can sit still for half an hour without a drink though I'm sure you'd love them.
The disco at the castle at 6:30 was good fun for our 2, not necessarily as good as the similar ones we've experienced at other hotels like holiday village (it's quite tight and nowhere to sit and watch so you have to stand around the front jossteling for space a little) but the entertainers are engaging and the kids had a ball dancing away.
Nothing bad to say about the pools, the splash pool and water park is where we spent most of our time, the kids enjoyed being able to play and we could supervise easily with it being little more than ankle depth water. The water park with the slides was just too much for our eldest, she tried it a could of times but is a bit tentative with water on her face and spooked her a little so spent more time in the splash park.
There didn't seem to be anyad scramble for loungers around the pools, some towels put early but never any issue getting a spot. Maybe due to it being November and not as busy as it can be potentially.
There's loads of bars round the pools although most are self service there's one down by the adult only pool that is attended and can serve decent cocktails, G&T, Bloody Mary etc. we were mainly happy with beer and a wine from the self service. The main bar at beside reception did 'nicer' cocktails. The sports bar was always quite lively in the evening with several matches on the screens.
The snack bar (McDonald's style) was handy and popular if you couldn't be bothered going to the buffet for lunch or wanted a snack of chips, wedges, cheese bites. The chicken nuggets, burgers were ok but not the best quality. The vegan burger was actually our favourite and felt like it was better for you as well as being better quality and tastier. They have some cold salads and fruit, puddings and ice cream as well to help yourself to.
We saw some broken tiles and also saw some maintenance repairing them. The hotel is so clean, our room was mopped daily as well as the usual turn down type service, the deck chairs are taken aside and cleaned under, the staff picked up food and attended to us at the buffet, yes a couple of times we noticed a bit of dirt on the table or a plate that had been missed but nothing significant.
Understand people being peeved if they got a bug while staying here but we've read similar reviews at pretty much every hotel and saw no signs of that while we were here.
Those who are saying this isn't a 5 star hotel must be expecting a Dubai 5 star adult only experience and missing the point of this. If you want an easy family holiday in the sun with great entertainment, food and drink then there's no need to look any further."
