Hotel Diplomat

"Spent 11 nights at this high quality & homely hotel 1/10 to 12/10. From the moment we landed at met by Eva we felt special rather than just another guest! Arrived early but our room was made available almost immediately. I had alerted them to the fact we were there as part of our 35th wedding anniversary and Eva had a lovely surprise for us in the room (see photo). Along with Senya our reception staff were always attentive and extremely pleasant. The whole experience from start to finish was faultless and the rooftop terrace is a quiet sun trap escape. Breakfast is varied and plentiful giving you great start to the day. 5 minute walk down the busy street to the beach from where you can go right to old town (30 minute stroll) or left to Beccici & Kamanovo beaches. Lots of areas to bathe and eat & drink. Consul restaurant is independent but attached and is excellent for lunch & evening meals Thanks too to the breakfast staff & our room staff lady who were all so pleasant. Fresh towels & bedding daily a real pleasure Thank you all at the Diplomat you made our holiday special"

"Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Diplomat. The ladies on Reception were helpful and friendly, housekeeping kept the rooms immaculate, it was lovely to have the roof terrace with pool, beds were comfy and the room was a great size for the 3 nights we were there. I would suggest the hotel put more effort into breakfast. The choice was quite limited and the quality often poor/stale. Also, the kitchen staff were quite not very happy with guests either :( Location wise, the hotel is on a busy road with plenty of supermarkets and small local restaurants. It's a half hour walk to Budva Old Town so you are a fair way out. We went at the start of October and most of the establishments had closed for the season. The ones which remained open were extremely expensive (and we are used to London food prices!) For example 32 euros for one piece of seabass, no accompaniments!! We took the bus to Kotor one day which was definitely worth it, although the main road is being repaired so be prepared for at least a 90 minute one-way journey. Bus was 6 euros each way - a taxi would have been around 70 euros each way. Be prepared for utter chaos departing Tivat Airport. It's a tiny airport with no facilities and the queues were horrendous so bring your own food, toilet paper and be prepared to stand until you board the plane. Sadly I don't think we will rush back to Montenegro. Yes, it has some beautiful scenery however the bad traffic and crazy high prices charged for taxis, food and drink is off-putting and I do not feel inclined to re-visit."

"Just returned from 7 days at this beautiful hotel, all staff friendly, hotel modern and immaculately clean, pool area lovely, location 30 min walk from Budva old town, plenty of restaurants, bars snd shops within easy walking distance. All in all we had a fantastic holiday, and recommend to anyone."
