"Stayed at this Hotel as part of a Saga trip, Overall the hotel is OK. Rooms are very basic, and beds very very hard. Tea making facilities in the room were minimal but being on all inclusive we could pick up extra supplies from the dining room. The food was basic and not a huge choice, but what we got was extremely tasty and well cooked , and there was enough ( it was nice not to be over faced with too much choice ) The staff are friendly and welcoming and very helpful. The location was great nice and quiet and just a short 10min walk to the town.
My huge disappointment was the Spa. Went to book a treatment, only to find not a soul about, only a client waiting for a treatment. We wandered round and called but no joy ( in all honesty we should have left then) after about 10mins a guy arrived, dealt with the client waiting( whose treatment was now late ) we asked if we could book , he said he couldn’t do it, but his manager would be there in 2 mins. Waited another 15mins still no one came so I went outside in search of someone .. Finally found a member of staff outside who came to help, eventually managed to book 2 treatments a massage 40 mins and a facial 40mins. I made it quite clear that it needed to be on time as I had other things booked already that afternoon, I was assured I would be away on time. I was then asked to pay upfront, which surprised me as have never been asked to pay upfront at any other Spas I have been to, it was not cheap. Fortunately I was given a print out of my appointments and receipt.
Turned up 15mins early for my treatment as requested to fill out the health form. Only one member of staff available dealing with other people. Told him I had an appointment was told he would get to us. Still hadn’t been spoken to when it was time for my treatment, I waited approximately 5mins after my treatment time, then told the member of staff( who was still dealing with the same people) my appointment was now late and I hadn’t filled out the health form.
He then came to help me looked for my appointment and said I was 40 mins early, they had failed to book my massage appointment, fortunately I could show him my print out of the booking. After lots of frantic phone calls he said we can still do it, by now it was 15 mins after my initial time, I made it c,ear I was not prepared to loose 15mins I had already paid for, and needed to be away on time as I had other things booked. I suggested cancelling the massage having a refund , and just having the facial,. I was told it was Company policy not to give refunds so NO I couldn’t have one , they would still do the massage.
It went ahead didn’t enjoy it, have had far better massages, and was constantly worrying about the time and found it stressful NOT relaxing.
No apology was given, and obviously no refund.
So in all ,a bad experience, mediocre massage and facial at expensive prices , definitely not enough staff.
DEFINITELY AVOID there are far better spas close by in the town"
