"This is a hard review to write because one person at this hotel was amazing. Her name is Lolie! If this was just about her, they’d get 5+ stars. Unfortunately, it’s about the overall experience and not one person. I will say Lolie literally fixed every issue! Things she couldn’t fix like room size and her other colleagues aren’t her fault. As an American everyone says…Paris hotel rooms are tiny. While true, they are small, we’ve never had to have someone stand at the door while the other accessed the bathroom!! This is the worst hotel we’ve stayed at in our 7 trips to Paris over the last 3 years. My review was so long, it wouldn’t post all the issues. First issue, as we checked in was the man at the front desk (only one we saw other than the handyman) and a young woman at the front desk. They both need to find other jobs so this hotel can gain stars it deserves even with small rooms. They were condescending and rude! I nicely, in French, asked for additional hangers (first the man right after check in and again on our second morning, then the young woman on our third morning). The man laughed and said he’d have them in our room when we returned ….nothing not even an explanation which would have been appreciated was awaiting us in our room. We were staying for 10 days so I didn’t think asking to have 5 hangers (cintres) in our room was excessive. I’ve been to Paris 7 times and never had an issue with getting enough hangers. The third morning the young woman was at the desk. I again asked in French only to have her laugh and correct my pronouncian. Google translate isn’t all it’s cracked up to be but I’ve never had anyone laugh at my attempt to speak a language I’ve spoken for 6 years. In case you need to know it’s sont-re not cent-re. Again, no explanation, just they’d be there for us when we returned. Nothing! Now we’ve left and returned four or five times. The first time our door wasn’t locked, we blamed ourselves, even though the maid service had been in the room. I also mentioned this to the young woman and was asked if we’d made sure the door was locked when we left. I didn’t point out that the room was serviced after we left it but took the warning for what it was. We needed to check the door. The second time it happened as we left our room and we had to pull the door shut forcefully, I told the same young woman. Her response, well now you know to pull it all the way closed. Acted like she didn’t understand that we were slamming the door shut each time and pulling forcefully to get it closed. Third time door wasn’t locked upon return when we had insured the door was closed and locked, told the young woman again and she said, the maids always check but she’d remind them. Fourth time, poor Lolie got a pissed off American. She apologized for her colleagues and told me she’d tell housekeeping and get someone to see if the door was broken. I also mentioned the hangers even though it was day 5 and she said they would send as many extra hangers as they could find. She let me know that there were only so many available in the hotel, but she’d do her best. Left Lolie at the front desk and returned to our room, I’d slammed the door as I left, and it was unlocked again although this time with my husband inside. Sounds like a bad comedy and it was. Lolie sent the hangers within 15 minutes and let us know that the handyman would be coming to fix the lock asap. It was our first interaction with her and she was professional, courteous, didn’t laugh about the hangers or unlocked door, etc. We received the hangers and returned the ones we didn’t use the next morning. Made sure door was shut and locked as Lolie said the handyman would be there the next day, etc. When we came back, Lolie told us the door lock had been broken but was now fixed, asked if there was anything else we needed, and offered us champagne. We declined the champagne and thanked her profusely for the hangers and fixing the broken lock. About 10 minutes inside our room and there was a knock on the door. The handyman was checking to be sure it was locking and definitely fixed. I had not expected him to personally check on us. Nice surprise and I was able to thank him in person. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again. When 33% of customers facing personnel actually help you, the hotel has issues. Love, Lolie…keep her! The other two I wouldn’t employ in my own business. We stayed in room 405 so beware it is tiny. Someone has to be on the bed to access the bathroom or stand by the door to access the bathroom. We are not big people and just to pass each other at the end of the bed….well let’s just say glad I was staying with my husband! I can recommend several other hotels that for the same price or less, you get a standard small Parisian room but one you can still walk in, extra hangers, and help with the language if you attempt to speak French. I will also post my video on my social media to show how small the room really is. Almost forgot…the elevator broke while we were there. My 81 years old husband walked the 5 flights. Sigh..just really not what we’ve come to expect from Paris. Thank goodness this wasn’t our first time in Paris."
