Ulisse Deluxe Hostel

"I was COMPLETELY and utterly shocked at the state of the hostel. These 4 and 5 star reviews are in no way accurate. Location was average, hard to find, down a little alleyway, no view of the ocean from our rooms whatsoever. Room was a disgrace, bedsheets dirty, shower had visible mould in every crevice. There were stains, hairs, and crumbs in the sheets. The bottom of our toilet leaked water, disgusting. Walls are paper thin - we could hear every footstep and movement from upstairs, and motorcycles and sirens at night. Breakfast was abysmal, the bread was rock hard, not many fruit options, and the milk smelt expired. Wifi is not very strong either. Even for the price we paid, I expect my sheets to be clean! Take precautions"

"Amazing hostel experience, basically a hotel with dorm room. Christian from reception was very helpful when I was panicking about my broken phone. Thanks for a beautiful stay, met some great people in Sorrento"

"This is a hotel- not a hostel. Basic marble hotel slightly old school but clean and quiet- we had room at end of a corridor. Dark rooms with not enough lighting at night but perfectly functional. Comfy beds with 2 flat pillows and blankets. High tub edges with grab bars they gave us bath mat - very slippery. Fridge cuts off when you leave the room. Fyi if you have medication that requires refrigeration. No in room coffee or water. No chairs in room other than desk chair. Lovely porch/ mini deck with lounge chair and small table and 2 chairs next to olive tree. Very cute and shutters that close and keep room dark and quieter although our room was fairly quiet except when people were talking in hallway- everything echos because of marble floors. Chairs scraping and doors closing in room above us was annoying again marble floors make noise reverberate. occasional motorcycle going up road and ambulance as were near a hospital. 2 pillows were flat- asked for 3rd as no chair except desk chair to lounge on in room. Fruit market next door was nice.no water or in room coffee maker or even water in lobby. Shortcut across street goes to harbor and down medieval historic district to a great shopping area, full service laundry, inlaid wood museum, etc. Basic breakfast- no Decaf unless you ask. Lots of sweets but did have scrambled eggs and roasted veggies ham, cheese, etc. Pretty good croissants. Good cereals, yogurt. This hotel is about 17 minute walk from train station. You’ll be walking alot. Center of town is about 10 min. Taxis are 30 euro- highway robbery for 10 min. short trip and he wouldn’t tun the meter and demanded cash or wouldn’t take us. Was very disappointed when i got there and found this out. Later front desk Saud if they call a taxi it's 20 -25 euro to train station if they call one for you"
