Bars and Clubs

In the city you will find a variety of stylish bars and luxury late night venues in ample supply. Head to the Merchant City for a fantastic variety bars and for cocktails in the beautiful surroundings of the Corinthian Club. If you prefer a more traditional Scottish experience, the West End is a haven of classic Scottish pubs and whisky bars such as Oran Mor.

If you want to hit the town there are plenty of bars and clubs along both Sauchiehall Street and Bath Street. For a night to remember, head to Glasgow club, the Arches, situated under the railway bridge at Central Station. The Arches has become one of Europe’s leading cultural venues, playing host to some of Britain’s biggest club nights and a fantastic range of gigs.


Glasgow is very proud of its vibrant comedy scene which is showcased across a variety of venues in the city including The Stand, Glasgow’s top comedy club, which has a rich history of hosting some of Scotland’s top comedians.


Glasgow’s legendary music scene stretches across a whole variety of musical styles from contemporary and classical to Celtic and Country. Home to both the Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Glasgow has a wealth of musical talent on offer. As a UNESCO City of Music, Glasgow is home to some amazing venues including, the legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, the world-class Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre, the ever-popular Barrowlands and the Old Fruitmarket, a unique space full of character. September 2013 will see the opening of The Hydro, a new 12,000-seat arena which will play host to a range of top international music stars and major sporting events.


Theatre lovers will not be disappointed with Glasgow's vibrant theatre scene and the selection of great theatres, old and new, that play host to an exciting array of stage performances all year round. The Kings Theatre dates from the early Edwardian period and hosts variety shows, musicals and comedy. Make sure you also check what productions are on at the Theatre Royal, the Tron Theatre and the Citizens Theatre.
