Most strikingly through its architectural centrepiece \u2013 the towering Palace of Youth and Sports.<\/p>\n<p>The Palace was completed in 1977 and was such a significant undertaking it required a referendum to give it the green light. Now it serves as a symbol of its era \u2013 a marker of ideological power. However, for the new wave of tourists looking to experience the legacy of communism first hand, it\u2019s a fascinating must-see.<\/p>\n<p>Directly opposite you\u2019ll find another monument to\u00a0Pristina\u2019s\u00a0youthfulness \u2013 a giant sign reading &#8216;NEWBORN\u2019. Designed by\u00a0Fisnik\u00a0Ismaili, it was unveiled in 2008 on the day that\u00a0Kosovo\u00a0formally announced its independence from
