After moving to the island a decade later, Benn and his partner\u00a0Zoe\u00a0took over\u00a0Cantina, refashioning it into a\u00a0trad\u00a0Canarian\u00a0spot that\u2019s also inspired by their own extensive travels. \u201cWe have an insider&#8217;s and outsider&#8217;s view of\u00a0Lanzarote, being some of the few foreigners in traditional\u00a0Teguise,\u201d they say.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7459\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7459\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7459\" src=\"https:\/\/traveller.ezjcloud.com\/prod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/WHERE-CHEFS-EAT_Lanzarote_Cantina-Teguise-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.easyjet.com\/en\/traveller\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/WHERE-CHEFS-EAT_Lanzarote_Cantina-Teguise-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.easyjet.com\/en\/traveller\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/WHERE-CHEFS-EAT_Lanzarote_Cantina-Teguise-768x554.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.easyjet.com\/en\/traveller\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/WHERE-CHEFS-EAT_Lanzarote_Cantina-Teguise.jpg 970w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-7459\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>A platter of fresh\u00a0titbits\u00a0at\u00a0Cantina\u00a0Teguise<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Cantina\u2019s\u00a0philosophy is \u201clocal produce, championing our farmers and fishermen\u201d, the couple says. \u201cWe generally have an authentic Moroccan\u00a0tagine\u00a0on the menu, a local fresh line-caught fish, an &#8216;iberico\u00a0de\u00a0bellota\u2019 acorn-fed pork steak plus a few dishes using only island-grown vegetables.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also put their carpentry and restoration skills to work, creating a \u201creclaimed and homemade\u201d aesthetic of\u00a0handcrafted\u00a0furniture and antiques salvaged from houses they\u2019d conserved over the years.
