"Very disappointing — don’t waste your money on All Inclusive
Before coming, I had read a lot of very mixed reviews about this hotel. When we arrived, we initially thought perhaps some people had simply been overly fussy or snobby, because on the surface the hotel looks lovely. The reception and pool areas are clean and well maintained, and the staff we encountered were generally friendly.
Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended.
FOOD & ALL INCLUSIVE
The food was consistently terrible. Bland, tasteless, soggy and with very limited choice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all equally disappointing throughout our stay.
On the second day, my partner became ill with what appeared to be food poisoning and, understandably, did not eat anything else from the hotel for the remainder of our stay apart from bread rolls.
The meal times are also surprisingly restrictive:
- Breakfast: 8am–10am
- Lunch: 1pm–3pm
- Dinner: 6:30pm–9pm
The drinks were equally disappointing. The cocktails are pre-mixed and dispensed from a machine, with barely any alcohol in them. Other drinks come with additional charges.
If you're considering All Inclusive, don't waste your money. Very little is actually included. Snacks cost extra, the hotel bar in the evening costs extra, and even at the pool bar you have to pay €1 per cup. There is also a €10 deposit for pool towels, which you keep for your entire stay and cannot exchange for a fresh towel. You return it at check-out.
With all the additional costs and the quality of the food, this felt much more like half board than All Inclusive.
THE ROOM
We had seen reviews describing the rooms as outdated, and initially we didn't really care about the decor. However, once we looked more closely, there were numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues.
The bathroom door handle wasn't properly screwed in. The skirting boards and door frames were peeling and coming away. The carpets were stained with what appeared to be bleach and had bunched up in several areas, creating a potential trip hazard.
The glasses in the room were dirty, and after the first day they weren't even replaced.
There was a kettle, but no tea, coffee or cups. Even when we bought our own drinks, there were no cups provided to actually use with the kettle.
We were also given a bowl of fruit and a bottle of champagne as a lovely gesture because we were celebrating our engagement. Unfortunately, the fruit was already rotten when we received it. Even more concerning, despite staying for a week, housekeeping never removed it. The plate of mouldy, rotting fruit was simply left in the room for the duration of our stay, attracting bugs.
There was also only one usable plug socket on the opposite side of the room to the bed, meaning that when travelling as a couple, only one person could charge a phone at a time unless you brought your own extension lead. We asked reception for one and were told they would contact someone and get back to us. They never did.
LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY
The hotel is around a 20–25 minute walk from town, but the walk back is significantly more difficult due to the uphill route and takes roughly another 10 minutes.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with mobility difficulties. Getting into town involves a difficult uphill walk back, and several areas of the hotel, including the pool and restaurant, are not step-free and require flights of stairs.
THE MOULD & WATER LEAK
The most concerning issue happened on the second-to-last day of our stay.
As I was leaving the bathroom, I suddenly felt water drip onto me. I looked up and found a huge area of mould on the ceiling, along with a large water pocket that had formed and was actively leaking.
We recorded the issue and immediately informed reception. What was particularly concerning was how completely unbothered the response was. They appeared to already know about the problem and immediately said it was the air conditioning before anyone had even inspected it.
We were told someone would be called to fix it. Nobody came.
The dripping continued throughout the entire night — drip after drip — and the issue was not resolved before we left.
For me, this was the final straw. A visible, leaking ceiling with a significant amount of mould should not be treated as though it is a minor inconvenience, particularly in a hotel room where guests are expected to sleep.
OVERALL
This hotel looks good at first glance, which is perhaps why we initially couldn't understand some of the negative reviews. Unfortunately, after spending a full week here, we now completely understand them.
The friendly staff, clean pool and reception area are not enough to make up for the poor food, misleading All Inclusive offering, additional charges, maintenance issues, poor housekeeping and the lack of urgency surrounding a serious mould and water leak.
We went into this holiday wanting to enjoy ourselves and tried very hard not to be overly critical, but there were simply too many issues to overlook.
Based on our experience, I would not return and I would not recommend paying extra for the All Inclusive package."
