Holidays in
Valletta

A capital crammed full of history

As the capital of Malta, Valletta holidays offer insight into the island’s colourful history, taking you back as far as the 1500s, when the walled city started to be built. Valletta is one of Europe’s smallest cities, with a population of less than 6,000, meaning it’s easy to get around and has a cosy, intimate feel. It’s also a photographer’s dream – there are lots of historic buildings and architecture, from the humbling site of St John’s Co-Cathedral to the Grandmaster’s Palace.

Elsewhere, you can take in the sights from the Grand Harbour or the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta’s highest point. There’s lots to do by night and day on holidays to Valletta. Investigate the local food scene – there are plenty of restaurants serving local and international cuisine – or head to the coast for a variety of water-based pursuits. For a well-rounded visit to Malta, Valletta is an ideal base for exploring the island’s vast range of sights and activities.
