Good hotel, strange location
"My wife and I stayed at the Editor for 3 nights before a cruise and overall this was a very good experience. The hotel is located right in the middle of the city which is convenient for lots of restaurants etc, but to be honest overall the area feels run down. We were a little concerned when the taxi first pulled up outside the hotel, it's in a rough back street just off a main 'high street' type road. But once inside we were put at ease...it's a nice hotel. Not high end luxury, but good quality and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was fine, good bathroom but a typically hard European bed...not the most comfortable but most European beds seem the same in my experience. The breakfast buffet is good although the 'hot' options were not even warm so we stuck to more continental options which were good. There are many restaurants and shops close by plus a stop for the useful 'Hop On, Hop Off' bus system. However, like much of Athens this is all mixed in with some derelict looking building, covered in graffiti and looking very rough. You can have some nice shops next to a run of rough buildings next to a Ancient wonder of the world next to a Vap shop, it's a odd mix across the city! Overall a good hotel that is perfect for a short stay."
Great Introduction to Athens
"We arrived early from London for a two day stop before embarking on our cruise. The welcome was fabulous and we were checked in seamlessly. The staff are very friendly and polite. The location of the hotel was ideal for our itinerary. Close enough to everything you can walk to most things and take cabs when you have to. Enjoyed the sunset from rooftop bars close by and food in the restaurants in the lanes that surround the hotel. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant where we were served by attentive staff. Thank u guys for making our first trip to Athens a memorable one."
Extra Extra...
"A very good hotel located in the heart of Athens and close to fantastic amenities. The room is comfortable, away from the noise of the streets below. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The downside is check in time, which is 3pm - at most International hotels it is 2pm - and check out time which is too early at 11am (12pm in most places). The breakfast is average compared to what we've had in other hotels in Athens. We had to complain about the croissants, which tasted stale."
