"Room dirty & dusty. Cleaners only give the room a quick hoover & mop (the same mop is used in every room & toilet/shower room with no change of head in between area's so all the floors are contaminated with toilet residue) every 2 days. Cobwebs & dust on all the less used surfaces. Shower mouldy, & parts falling off and taped together. Drain blocked and intermittent hot water.
We asked someone reception for our room to be cleaned & hoovered & requested extra pillows & duvet & clean towels (we only had one small pillow each). We were told they ran out of pillows & blankets. The staff member agreed to my cleaning request & fresh towels but when we arrived back at our room that evening it hadn't been cleaned.
The room was tiny - the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. It's more like a capsule hostel but with a private shower room although that isn't reflected in the price.
The room wasn't sound proofed so you could hear other guests/the lift at all times. You could also hear whenever people flushed the toilet or used the shower.
There was limited storage for clothes or other personal items which made it awkward. There was no kettle or drink facilities in the room - these were only included in the premium rooms.
The TV was rubbish, only English channel on it was BBC news (which isn't what you want to watch when on holiday at Christmas).
We booked through TUI's city break packages and was under the impression that breakfast was included in the hotel from the listing (the whole reason we picked the hotel was because we believed it included it). We added breakfast on and it was €35 for 2. The food hygiene was poor, with a lot of hairs on the chaffing dishes and in the food. Staff were not being attentive to changing the food often or keeping the area clean & maintained.
We came down for breakfast at around 10am and they stop serving at 1030. They took away all of the food without warning. which is frustrating as we had just paid €35 so a heads up from one of the wait staff that they would soon be clearing up would've been really appreciated.
The location was good with a 10-15 walk to a lot of the tourist hotspots.
The atmosphere was fine.
The pictures are deceptive and make the hotel look nice, but in person if you look at anything even slightly closely you notice they're worn/dirty. This hotel definitely put a dampener on our time in Berlin.
I'm going to speak with TUI directly & won't use the titanic brand of hotels in the future there is better value, service & hospitality to be found with other hotels."
