Garner Hotel Berlin - Ku'Damm

"I see that my review is the first one, so I'll try to be as objective and helpful as I can: The rooms have not been fully and in detail refurbished. I had two rooms in three nights, and both were rather old and worn out. Several things in bathrooms were broken or fixed provisionally. The rooms had damages on various sides, the room on 7th floor had only roof windows and they were not tight -draught and also water coming in, leaving stains on wall. This needs to improve. Because: In contrast, the beds seemed new, the linen, pillows and duvets as well. So it would be great if it all coult fit into a bit freshened up room. Maybe I was just unlucky with my two rooms, other reviews will show. Also, both rooms were given to me very clean. So it's not cleanliness, it's maintenance. Also beware of the 7th floor rooms, as you can reach them only through a set of steep stairs after the elevator leaves you on 6th floor. This is not marked anywhere in the hotel website. If you have mobility issues beware. However, any criticism I voice was completely outcasted by the staff. They are the sweetest people you can have in a hotel. Smiling, helpful and trying to make up for the mobility issues I had in my first room. They are wonderful and made the stay enjoyable at the end. Breakfast is various, fresh, it has all you need and is really well presented. The management, please fix the rooms. Then this will be a great hotel to stay."

"Disgusting, rude, abrasive & unhelpful staff. We go to Berlin 3 times a year to see friends & to attend the DeutscheOpera. AVOUD this place at all costs. Nice enough room. In our 8 family businesses,we'd FIRE feckless wastrel employees lije the Yggotel ones. One haughty,condescending babe on front desk said she was going to call police, as she accused me of stealing food from breakfast area. As a Doctor, I am NOT into stealing. Caliber of English is lousy for most employees. Hmm, I speak 5 languages. Rude Ukrainian employee laughed at me & told me to learn GERMAN. Nope, ENGLISH is universal. Customer service & people skills are non-existent. Should you receive a defensive rebuttal from this place, do take it with LESS than a grain of salt. Truly risible. NEVER STAY HERE. We were attending an International Medical Conference in Berlin. Our German colleagues were horrified to hear about our treatment. If we could give this joint zero stars, we would."

"The location is good and you may easily access the city centre by metro. I stayed three nights and asked to clean my room three times and no reaction was taken. An elevator was not working and they assigned me to the sixth floor. Several times my door key was deactivated and I had to go down to reactivate. Breakfast is good."
