Six square kilometres of rock surrounded by beaches, a home to apes and dolphins and a complete mix of Spanish and British traditions. You can look, but you won’t find anywhere quite like Gibraltar. If it’s a slice of Britain with a Mediterranean twist you’re after then head to ‘The Rock’.
Located on Spain’s southern tip, Gibraltar has been in British hands since 1713 and is an interesting mix of the two countries. Home to red telephone boxes, British looking policemen, Marks & Spencer and, oh yeah, tapas and flamenco dancers. And, of course, let’s not forget those naughty Barbary Apes.

Springtime is the perfect time of year to enjoy a stroll around Gibraltar's beautiful Botanical Gardens, which date from 1816 and include themed flowerbeds, as well as plants and trees from all over the world.

Wonder at the sweat and tears that went into digging out the Siege Tunnels - arguably the world's most impressive underground defence system - before returning on the cable car and seeing the evocative Trafalgar Cemetery with its headstones of sailors killed at the Battle of Gibraltar.
