(28 Bulevard dels Músics) Visit the newly created Open-Air Museum Roman Villa in Albir, near the beach. In the area are also mausoleums dating from the same period.

Every town and village on the Costa celebrates the Feast of the Three Kings on 6 January, marking the last of the 12 days of Christmas. On the evening of 5 January, the Kings arrive in each locality dressed in finery and riding camels or horses to distribute presents to the local children.

Campello is a modern residential area set in a bay between Villajoyosa and Alicante where you'll be greeted by kilometres of white sandy beaches, with the blue sea still warm enough for bathing in January.

Visit the old village of Finestrat in the foothills of the towering peak of the Puig Campana nature park. Finestrat is sited on a Moorish village with many of the buildings and customs retaining the ancient atmosphere. It received its village charter in 1282.

Escape to the ancient Moorish mountain village of Finestrat Pueblo, which received its Royal Charter in the 13th century. And don't miss the beautiful Gothic church built outside the village walls in the 18th century.

Take a boat trip to the ancient island of Tabarca, which was settled by Italian prisoners taken in the Spanish-Italian wars of the 14th century. There's plenty to see and do on the island, which is now a bird sanctuary. Boats sail regularly from Campello and Santa Pola.
