Reykjavik Restaurants

Gandhi
An intimate but cosy restaurant with an emphasis on food from the southern Kerala region. Dishes teem with nuts, vegetables and fish, and there are some Indian classics too. The fish curry is particularly good.

Hamborgarafabrikkan
It may feel like a bland American diner at first - but the burgers here are rightly celebrated as some of the best in town. There are also some main meals (ribs, lamb) available, but you really need to try the Bubbi Morthens.

Perlan
Resting on six large hot-water containers, with stunning views over Reykjavik, "The Pearl" is the city's only revolving restaurant and boasts perfectly prepared fish and meat dishes as well as art exhibitions and a permanent Viking history exhibit.

Address: Oskjuhlid Hill | Telephone: 562 0200 |

Vox
The Hilton's five-star restaurant is famed for its nouveau, seasonal cuisine. A mix of local and international dishes, the four and five-course meals are expensive (especially if matched with wines) but highly memorable. Decor is a little corporate but service is wonderful, as is the legendary Sunday brunch.
