It's Spring Festival time! Taking a similar form to the world-famous Oktoberfest, this event on the Theresienwiese features a funfair and huge beer tents, where visitors can sample the local brew by the litre and sway along to the sounds of the Bavarian oompah bands. The festival runs from 19 April to 5 May.

January 2013
A great way to spend a winter's day is by trying your hand at the local sport of Eisstockschiessen, a form of curling. Competitors can aim for a target or to send their ice stock as far as possible.
