Dortmund Airport Guide

Dortmund Airport is located on the east side of the Ruhr industrial area, with easy access into Germany.

Check-in can be found on the first floor of the Terminal building, directly opposite the two entrances.

All passengers travelling to/from Germany must ensure their Passport is signed to avoid unnecessary delays at the Border Control on arrival or departure from German territory.

By car

Take the A40 in the direction of Dortmund, following the signs to the city centre. Various car paks are available at the airport complex, P1 being nearest the terminal. Parking costs 1 EUR for an hour here, or 9 EUR for a day.

By coach

A shuttle bus operates from the central bus station at Dortmund main train station directly to Dortmund airport. It starts at 4.30 in the morning at the station, the last bus from airport to the station runs at 22.30. Journey time is approximately 25 minutes. Price is 5 Euro per adult and 2 Euro for children between 6 and 14 years, kids under six years are free of charge.

By train

Trains travel between Dortmund and Holzwickede train station eight times per hour.

A courtesy bus operates between Holzwickede station and the airport. It runs at regular 15-minute intervals between 05:00 hrs and 23:00 hrs from Holzwickede station, taking approximately 5 minutes to the terminal.
