Cheap flights to Lille
Situated on the northern border of France, Lille is thought to have been some form of settlement from as far back as 2,000BC. Today the city proudly displays its historic heritage and has fast become a popular destination for a European city break.
Lille is a complete mix of old and new and its vibrant and dynamic atmosphere means that it is constantly moving and developing with the times. There are a selection of historic buildings and famous cobbled narrow streets, an excellent choice of bars and restaurants and some of the best art galleries and museums outside of Paris.
The city has hints of Spanish, Dutch and German, yet is still a really exquisite French city at its heart, full of beautiful Flemish and Belgian influence in its architecture and cuisine.
For the first time, Lille's Palais des Beaux Arts is showing an exhibition of Instagram photographs. Les Instagramers s'Exposent is the result of an "instameet", for which the museum was privatised for some 50 snap-happy amateur photographers. The result? A rare invitation to see the museum's most inspiring features through the eyes of the @igerslille. Until 29 August, pba-lille.fr
