Cheap flights to Lille
Situated on the northern border of France, Lille is thought to have been some form of settlement from as far back as 2,000BC. Today the city proudly displays its historic heritage and has fast become a popular destination for a European city break.
Lille is a complete mix of old and new and its vibrant and dynamic atmosphere means that it is constantly moving and developing with the times. There are a selection of historic buildings and famous cobbled narrow streets, an excellent choice of bars and restaurants and some of the best art galleries and museums outside of Paris.
The city has hints of Spanish, Dutch and German, yet is still a really exquisite French city at its heart, full of beautiful Flemish and Belgian influence in its architecture and cuisine.
The Lille Métropole Museum of Modern, Contemporary and Outsider Art (LaM) is running a retrospective of Jean Dubuffet, founder of the Art Brut movement (often referred to as outsider art). Explore man's relationship with the natural and urban worlds, a common theme in Dubuffet's work, via the 13 paintings and one sculpture on show. The LaM is located in Villeneuve d'Ascq, Lille's easy to access neighbouring city. Until 8 January 2017.
