The beautiful city of Bordeaux offers up a whole host of holiday goodies; the world’s best wine, a romantic city centre, culture by the bucket-load and even family-friendly beach resorts just a short train journey away. If you thought Paris was the only French city worthy of a romantic break, then think again.
Bordeaux, that city famous for its wine is vying for the title of France’s most amorous town. The reason? Well, it could have something to do with its newly revamped Neo-classical centre, its moonlit riverside walks, or its beautifully landscaped parks. One thing’s for sure, it won’t be long before you’re falling in love with Bordeaux and all its charms.

Enjoy bargain hunting at the Bordeaux Antiques Fair, from the 18 November until the 4 December. With over 200 stalls, this biannual event regularly attracts over 150,000 visitors. On the surface, bargains may seem hard to come by but take the time to rummage and hunt through old suitcases and drawers and who knows what treasures you'll find. Don't forget to haggle!

Bordeaux S.O Good runs from 18 to 20 November, and is described as an urban food festival. Temporary markets in the city centre offer the possibility to sample the best from South West France, including truffles, caviar and chocolate, with special dishes prepared by local Michelin-starred chefs.
