You'll find Epiphany celebrations in all the region's main towns but it's especially huge in Gijón, where the Three Wise Men parade through the streets handing out sweets to the children (5 January, 7-9pm). The impressive procession ends up in the Plaza Mayor for general partying.

Monte Naranco is Oviedo's answer to Sugarloaf Mountain, complete with statue of Christ. There are panoramic views from the top and plenty of restaurants on the way up. Stop off at the ninth-century churches of Santa Maria de Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo.
