Via Sparano (off Corso Vittorio Emanuele II) is a pedestrianised street crammed full of all the top-brand stores, from Louis Vuitton to Gucci. This central avenue forms the hub of several blocks of shopping paradise with lots of smaller boutique shops running off the side streets and beyond. A must-visit location for those with a shopping scratch to itch.

For the ultimate Bari shopping experience visit the Borgo Murattiano an entire district covering several square blocks full of every conceivable type of shop. You can pick up anything from a Gucci handbag to a cheap handmade artisan item. A must for those that like to shop.

Borgo Murattiano is the only area of town to go where you can find almost everything. The street market sells fruit and veg, chocolate and pasta, clothes, trinkets and more. Note, most shops will shut for a siesta between 1pm-4.30pm.

The Mincuzzi Warehouse (via Sparano 70)was for many years the most upmarket place to shop.It's a huge gold domed Art Noveau building set in the heart of the financial shopping district. Head for it and you'll be in the center of the action.
