Mykonos' open-air cinema, Manto, is staging a Gay Film Festival 3-6 August. Films (in original version, with Greek subtitles) are screened in a walled garden, each evening after dark (Mykonos Town, http://www.cinemanto.gr).

Mykonos is not just about sea, sunshine and clubbing. From the harbour, excursion boats run to the nearby islet Delos, which the ancients considered the spiritual centre of the Cyclades. Home to ruined temples dating back to 3000 BC, today it's a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.

"Ride with the wind, experience freedom" is the motto at Horseland. Based in Ano Mera, Fanis Rouvas and his horses offer riding excursions for all levels, including a sunset treks along a sandy beach (horseland.gr).
