Makis Psarotaverna
Though very humble seen from outside, this has long been regarded as one of Kos' best seafood tavernas. Additional tables now catch the sea breeze and permit views of the Kálymnos ferries, but slappingly fresh (if basically presented) fish and seafood is still the main draw here.

Old Pyli Taverna
George, a fisherman based in Mastihári, runs this seafood taverna handily placed for the ruins of medieval Pylí. He serves his own fresh catch, along with a few vegetarian starters. Unbeatable views north from the terrace.

Petrino
This converted mansion with a tiered garden has been a popular high-end restaurant since 1993. The menu, revamped in 2012, is part mezédes, part fusion mains, including shrimps in garlic-ouzo sauce, grilled salmon and escalope marsala.
