Bordeaux, that city famous for its wine is vying for the title of France’s most amorous town. The reason? Well, it could have something to do with its newly revamped Neo-classical centre, its moonlit riverside walks, or its beautifully landscaped parks. Head for Les Epicuriales de Bordeaux (13-30 June), when restaurants and bars spill out into the Allées de Tourny to offer al fresco eating and drinking. Attend one of the free cookery/cocktail-making classes or enjoy a meal on one of the restaurant terraces under the lime trees.
