Zakynthos, also known as Zante is a popular holiday resort year after year. The resorts in Zakynthos vary from quaint fishing villages to lively beach resorts, like Laganas.
The major tourist area is Laganas, on the North West coast. It’s popular for its golden sandy beach, but even more so for its nightlife.
A favourite amongst the 18-30s holiday goers, there are more than enough clubs and bars to keep you entertained on a two week holiday!
Zakynthos Town, the capital, can be found on the East coast. You will find the main shopping area here and the harbour, which offers day trips to Killini.
Kalamaki is tailored more for families. Although more low key than Laganas it is still full of life, and offers a golden sandy beach which stretches for miles.
Elsewhere around Zakynthos you will find pretty villages and breathtaking scenery.
Zakynthos is only a small island so it’s highly recommended to hire a car during your stay and tour the whole island. You will experience some truly amazing sights.
Ferries also leave regularly from Agios Nikolaos to offer day trips to Kefalonia, giving you the opportunity to explore more of the Greek Islands during your stay.
