Event: The easyJet city centre beach
Location: Beside The Gilded Balloon, Teviot Row House in Bristo Square, Edinburgh
Date: 25 August 2008
Time: 10.00 – 18.00
To celebrate their summer sun routes including Palma, Alicante, Malaga and Faro, easyJet has commissioned renowned German artist Manfred Stader to create a ‘beach’ in the heart of Edinburgh using 3D pavement art.
The beach will appear for one day only on the August Bank Holiday Monday, also the last day of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, – 25th August. The artists will be creating the one-off artwork from 10 am beside the Gilded Balloon with music and dancing from 12 noon.
A surfside DJ will create a beach party atmosphere with salsa dancers on hand to teach beach boys and babes some sexy salsa moves. Cabana boys and girls will be encouraging passers by to join in the beach buzz by running mini-giveaways for holiday essentials such as flip flops and mobile phone beach bags. Those who take part in the free salsa lessons will be entered into a draw to win a pair of return flights to an easyJet summer sun destination.
easyJet, Europe’s leading low-fares airline, flies from Scotland to a number of summer sun destinations from £23.99 one way.
