Welcome to peaceful holiday bliss in the ornate Majorcan coastal resort of Puerto Soller. With the vibrancy of the local community, stunning scenery and beautiful Balearic Island sunsets, Puerto Soller has all the ingredients for an unashamedly blissful beach break.
One of the best things about Puerto Soller is its versatility. The idyllic natural harbour is a beautiful and safe environment for families to enjoy swimming, boat trips and water sports such as jet skiing. The beaches are spectacular, with plenty of sunbeds to allow you to enjoy the views out into the harbour while working on the old tan! And in the evenings, you’ll find the town hugely welcoming and packed full of delicious eateries and fun, vibrant bars. Explorers can wander into the hills to explore beautiful fruit tree farms, palm tree-lined trails, and stunning views out over the town and harbour.
Families, couples and adventurers will all love Puerto Soller and its wonderful combination of hospitality, beauty and fun. Island bliss awaits!
Under an hour from Puerto Soller, the city of Palma is Majorca’s lively capital. With all the highlights and activity of a city break destination, Palma is a great day trip from the more peaceful resorts, such as Puerto Soller. Catch the bus to Palma and spend the day exploring art galleries, a great range of restaurants and bars, as well as a fantastic shopping scene. Palma locals are particularly proud of their marina, which is large – as are the vessels moored in it!
Visit Palma when it’s in full fiesta season, and you’ll be in for a real treat. Sant Sebastiá (January), and Sant Joan (June) are the two big festivals. The city comes out in force, with costumes, vibrant music, parades, fireworks, and endless delicious street food.
Just over an hour away, Pollensa is for the moochers. The town itself is beautiful. Whitewashed buildings contrast gothic churches, and there are even some ancient ruins to seek out. The old town is particularly pretty, and if you’re beach-spotting, Pollensa is a hefty contender, with soft sands and hidden coves to find. Within the town, café culture is at large, so settle in with a paper and a coffee. If mooching is more your style, come on a Sunday morning and visit Placa Major’s market stalls of produce.
Found just half an hour from Puerto Soller, Deia is small town pretty. For its size, Deia is surprisingly bustling. It has a rather grand list of inhabitants, from the literary to the wealthy. Us mere holidaymakers though will enjoy the beaches, the stone and shutter houses intermingled with trees, and the peaceful pace of life.
If you’re looking to go out in Deia, expect it to be more focused on low-key drinks by the beach than bass-pumping clubs. That said though the local artists do have a bit of a tradition for weekend-long parties of swimming au naturel and drinking!
