Experience a traditional Manx ‘Hop-tu-Naa' or Halloween, as it is more commonly known. Visit Cregneash village from 10am to 4pm on October 31 to try your hand at carving a turnip lantern, sing Hop-tu-Naa songs, and learn the steps to the traditional danceS. To round off the day, enjoy the grand turnip lantern parade led by Manx musicians.

Get a taste of the Manx and Celtic music scene at Celtfest Isle of Man, a festival celebrating Celtic music, dance and culture from July 10-15 in Peel. The festival will feature a host of musicians, as well as a workshops and a family activity day. Ticketed events range from £12.50 to £15 but there are lots of free events too. www.celtfest.im

To get a taste of traditional Manx life in the 19th century head to Cregneash village located in the shadow of Meayll Hill and overlooking the Calf of Man. The quaint village gives visitors the chance to step inside original thatched cottages and learn about the farming and crofting way of life with unique demonstrations and interactive experiences.

Visit the Isle of Man Motor Museum to see the huge collection of unique classic vehicles from all over the world. The museum, which is located on the former RAF Jurby, features a collection of more than 400 classic vehicles including motorcycles, steam cars, trucks, buses and fire engines, making it the perfect destination for petrol heads.

The Isle of Man is the perfect destination for those wanting to try water sports such as sea kayaking. Sea kayaking gives people the chance to discover the island's beautiful coastline, marine life and secret places only accessible via sea kayak. Sessions are led by experiences coaches and are suitable for those with or without experience.

From April 28 to May 1, walkers can experience the beautiful walking routes the island has to offer during the Isle of Man Walking Festival. Walkers can choose from a variety of routes, picking the level of difficulty and length they would like. Each walk is led by an experienced guide who will lead walkers across the stunning Manx countryside.
