Glasgow Shopping

The Barras, Glasgow's famous indoor covered market, just east of Glasgow Cross, is where you can buy almost anything from fresh fruit and veg to kilts, boots, antiques, records, books and collectables. Open every Saturday and Sunday.

Glasgow's West End is excellent for shopping as there is such a variety of shops within the lanes and arcades of Byres Road. Get the underground (the famous clockwork orange) to Hillhead. There are lots of bars and cafes to choose from, including the Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road

Victorian Village Antiques is a great place for costume jewellery, collectables, memorabilia and antiques. There are lots of interesting shops here offering a wonderful selection of items, guaranteeing you a great browse to capture a bargain (93 West Regent Street; tel: 0141 332 9808).
