Aberdeen Nightlife

Perhaps the latest bar to open in Aberdeen, Steinhaus takes the world's best beers and transplants them into the north east of Scotland. A welcome addition to the city's busy craft beer scene, Steinhaus is Aberdeen's first bar to offer tank beer: an unpasteurized version of the beverage that many say tastes as fresh as sampling straight from the brewery. So, if a lively atmosphere and a crisp, fresh beer sounds right up your street, you know where to go!

The Grill
Voted friendliest pub in the north east of Scotland at last year's Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards, The Grill is one of Aberdeen's most famous drinking establishments. Renowned for its selection of single malts, visitors can take a Whisky Flight: a four-dram taste safari that takes in a specific region or style of whisky. “Tour” Speyside, Highland or Islay distilleries from the comfort of a well-padded bar stool!

Six Degrees North
At the forefront of the north east's craft beer revolution is Six Degrees North. Brewed in Stonehaven and served in their flagship Aberdeen bar, these local guys know how to produce a delicious beer. Inspired by Belgian beer halls, but brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century, the bar is a haven for beer lovers with over 350 beers on tap and in bottles alongside a beer-infused food menu. Our recommendation? Try the Wanderlust Wheat.

The Globe
If you're after a lively pub with good food, a great selection of drinks, and brilliant live music, then The Globe is the place to be. Halfway between the city centre and His Majesty's Theatre, it's a regular post-show haunt for theatre-goers, and is equally popular with the city's music lovers. Local blues legend Gerry Jablonski can sometimes be found plying his trade here.

Do you want to kick back late into the night with a cocktail? Classic drinks sit alongside some creations unique to the bar, however the expert mixologists are always happy to go off-piste if your favourite isn't on the menu. For those looking to learn the secret of making the perfect drink, mixology lessons are also offered where you'll be guided by expert hands in preparing some of Dusk's signature cocktails.

Orchid is an Aberdeen institution. The late-night cocktail bar is a hive of activity all through the week, popular for its offering of classic combinations and experimental flavours. Where else might you sample a bacon-flavoured drink that is quite simply delicious. The Pink Orchid comes highly recommended, but if there's nothing on the extensive menu that takes your fancy then expert mixologists are on hand to build you your ideal tipple.

Address: 53 Langstane Place, Aberdeen | Telephone: 01224 516126 |

Revolucion de Cuba
Every day is rum day in this little touch of Cuba transplanted into the north east of Scotland. Open til late, you'll always have a good time at Revolucion de Cuba, whether you're there for Taco Tuesday or one of the regular salsa classes. If you're looking for the place to party with a mojito in hand, this is the place for you.

Unit 51
Aberdeen's newest nightclub is also one of its most intriguing. Neighbouring long-standing gig venue The Tunnels, Unit 51 isn't open every week. Instead it curates some of the freshest sounds for exclusive ticketed events. The graffiti-filled cave has built a fantastic reputation despite being open for just a few weeks, so check it out if you're lucky enough to grab an elusive ticket.
