Amman Airport Guide

Ammans Queen Alia International Airport is situated in the Zizya area about 20 miles south of Amman.

Important information for passengers

Please note revised opening and closing times for check-in at this airport:

Check-in opens 3 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight and closes 60 minute before.

You need an entry visa to Jordan. You can obtain single entry visas, valid for one month, on arrival at the Amman Queen Alia International Airport. A single entry visa costs 10 Jordanian Dinars.

By bus:
The Airport Express bus runs every 30 minutes between 6am and 11pm. The journey is about 45 minutes to an hour long and terminates in the centre.

By taxi:
From the airport to the city centre your best option is to take a taxi. Amman taxis are yellow with a green logo on the driver and passenger doors. Do not hail taxis with other colour logos. These taxis are from other cities and it is illegal for them to operate in Amman. All taxis are required to use meters and although after midnight they are not required to be used and thus fares are often doubled.

Be aware of private cars posing as taxis. They often sit at the bus stands, and insist you pay over the odds for your journey.
