Key Areas
April 2013
For a pretty seaside stroll, head for the Lungomare, Naples' oceanside walkway. A stroll here takes you by cafes, restaurants and fancy hotels, while offering plenty of photo opportunities of Mount Vesuvius, historic fountains, ancient castles, sunbathers and kissing couples. Don't forget to stop for gelato and espresso along the way.
March 2013
From hectic alleys, such as the famous Spaccanapoli, to the peaceful cloister garden of Santa Chiara, Naples' historic city centre is well worth exploring. This part of town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the original Greek settlement in 470 BC called Neapolis (which, ironically, means "new city").
