Kos Nightlife

'Traditional kafeneio' where proprietress Anna fosters a good atmosphere with discreet music and affordable drink, from morning coffee to evening tipple. There's also okay if not spectacular food if you're peckish. Mostly locals go. The name ('Middle School') derives from the building concealing a secret Greek language academy under the Italian occupation.

Address: Crnr 25 Martíou and Krekoúkia | Telephone: 2242116168 |

Aplo Beach Bar
Atop a sand dune, this is Mastihári's prime spot to watch the sunset, and evening ferries gliding past towards Piraeus. Keenly priced cocktails, hot or cold coffees and light snacks (until 8pm) as well. Live music 1 or 2 nights weekly.

Four Roses
A long established Kos Town favourite has moved and changed style: it's now an all day and night beach bar, where after dark patrons do their moves on the sand or even in the water as there's no dance floor.

Address: Geórgou Papandréou Avenue | Telephone: 2242116907 |

Status Club
The only serious rival to Starlight on the local clubbing scene, featuring UK guest DJs and famous "glow parties" with non-toxic, UV-active bubbles, or White Parties with mandatory dress in guess-what-colour.
