This little cafe specialises in novelty hot chocolates, teas and coffees like "kafés sti hóvoli" or Greek coffee made over hot sand the old-fashioned way. This is also a nice early-spring sun trap, so it's not just for after dark.

Aplo Beach Bar
Atop a sand dune, this is Mastihári's best spot to watch the sunset, and evening ferries gliding past towards Piraeus. There are well priced cocktails, and they serve hot or cold coffees and light snacks (until 8pm) as well. Live music one or two nights weekly. If you're going with a group make a booking.

Law Court Café
Within sight of Hippocrates' plane tree, this cafe hidden under arches tempts visitors with beer and properly brewed coffee at modest prices for the location. An excellent spot to wait for a ferry or hydrofoil.

Going strong in various guises since the late 1980s, this huge venue, a former cinema gets a mixed crowd of all ages from teens to fortysomethings. Visitors can expect free entrance before midnight, and two drinks for €7 during happy hour.
