Classic cookshop near the Listón arcades, featuring angináres ala políta with fresh artichokes in springtime, hearty stews and lentil soup, accompanied by heavy palatable local red wine. The Durrells ate here regularly during their sojourn, but it existed before them.

Cavo Barbaro Restaurant
A long-running favourite offering beet salad with yogurt and walnuts, aubergine soufflé, oyster mushrooms, sofríto, baked lamb, octopus carpaccio and fish.  Fangrí (red porgy)  arrives perfectly grilled and presented with a sprig of fresh fennel inside and a side of grilled vegies.
