Following their "creation residency" at the Musée d'Histoire Naturelle de Lille, artists François Andes, Pascal Marquilly and Gaëlle Luca have teamed up for the Chimère Lille exhibition. Using the museum and its collections as their inspiration, with a particular focus on endangered species, they have succeeded in breathing new life into the old institution. The Michel Nedjar, Introspective exhibition at the Art Brut museum LaM in Villeneuve d'Ascq (Lille's neighbouring city) is well worth making a detour for. It examines themes which fascinated the artist and Art Brut scout, from death to magic and travel. Nedjar may be best-known for his dolls made of cloth and mud, but this exhibition also sheds light on pieces from other genres including sculpture, painting and experimental cinema. Until 4 June 2017. musee-lam.fr
