Wood U Like's main branch on Sheraton Road has a wide selection of arts and crafts from all over Egypt and Africa. Lights, ceramics, carvings and pictures, as well as scarves, handbags and cushion covers make this an Aladdin's Cave that's worth a visit.

Every craft is represented at the Akhenatoun, including papyrus, carpets, ceramics, and brass ware. There's a fantastic selection - but avoid the late-afternoon tour groups (Opposite 2 Moubarak, El Kawther).

The Bread Basket on El Corniche Road offers great bread and cake prepared by German bakers. The cheese croissants melt in the mouth, the apple crumble danish is delicious and there's a wide range of bread from baguette to ciabatta.

Cotton House Karkoucha offers the best value and choice in bed linen, fluffy towels, cotton accessories and designer casuals. Items are fixed price but there's no harm in having a bit of a haggle, especially for multiple purchases (Next to Gad, Sheraton Road, Sekalla).
