Cheap flights to Bari

Bari
If you’re looking for a long or short break to Bari, then book a cheap flight with easyJet. Bari is the capital city of the province of Bari and of the Apulia region, located on the Adriatic coast. It is well known for its port and university. Bari consists of four different parts. The vibrant old town with its basilica, cathedral, castle, and excellent nightlife, and the Murattiano area with its fantastic shopping area (around the Via Sparano and the Via Argiro) and the promenade on the sea are certainly the best!

Bari is an industrious hard working port city in the beautiful Apulia region where some of Italy’s best hidden secrets still remain to this day. Sights not to be missed in town include the Basilica of San Nicola where the remains of the patron saint are kept, the Romanesque basilica of San Gregorio, the Cathedral of San Sabino and Bari’s former main point of defence, the Norman-Swabian Castle, built by Frederick II. The old part of town has some charming placet such as the Piazza Mercantile and the Colonna infame, once used as a pillory for insolvent debtors. More modern buildings also worth a visit are Teatro Petruzzelli, Teatro Margherita, Palazzo Fizzarotti and the library of Santa Teresa dei Maschi. There are also many churches on the reefs and hypogeums cut out of the rock and subsoil. Don’t miss the church on the reefs of Saint Candida, the temple of Saint George and the hypogeum of Madio Diana, the “Jewish” hypogeum. Museums worth a visit: the Archaeology Museum, the Provincial picture gallery, the Civic History museum and the Botanical Gardens Institute.

The Apulia region covers the heel of Italy’s boot, and runs along the Adriatic coast, the Ionian Sea, the Strait of Òtranto, and the Gulf of Taranto. Taranto and the province of the same name can trace their history back to rock settlements and Greek culture. The land was once rich in water and very fertile as a result, attracting rock settlement civilisations and Greek settlers. Traces of these ancient civilizations are still visible in the charm of wonderful landscapes included in natural settings. Today the sandy beaches and crystal clear water attract a lively tourist population.

The town of Pulsano is perched 40 metres above sea level in the province of Taranto, overlooking the beautiful, clear waters of the Ionian Sea. Pulsano’s history as a holiday destination goes back to Roman times when Roman nobles built their summer villas’ along the coast to spend long relaxing holidays here. Today the town offers long beautiful beaches that gently slope into the sea, offering the perfect setting for family holidays, and an warm generous hospitality with fantastic local food and wine.
