What does an average day look like for you?

Every day is different which is what makes the job interesting. I have to split my time between many activities, checking in on the teams involved in enhancing IT systems like eastJet.com, assessing any operational or performance issues and looking at new ideas and concepts to drive the business forward. There can be very busy days, for example during promotional sales periods or if bad weather causes a lot of flight disruption, but everyone pulls together really well and we get through it all.

Knowing that technology systems I’m responsible for are used by millions of people around the world and in a way that ultimately makes peoples happy, because travel is exciting.

What advice do you have for anyone who would like to work in this area?

You’ll have the chance to work on some of the UK’s most heavily used eCommerce systems sooner than you might think, which is a fantastic opportunity that many other companies just can’t offer.
