Cheap flights to Prague, Barcelona, Geneva and more from Bristol

Bristol, UK

The buzzing city of Bristol is full of restaurants and clubs, with many centred around the revitalised harbourside area.

The harbourside's top attraction is the magnificent At-Bristol, which offers three amazing attractions: Explore, a hands-on scientific adventure with state-of-the-art technology and planetarium; Wildscreen, a spectacular journey through botanical gardens and a tropical rainforest, plus the West's largest IMAX theatre. (0845 345 1235/www.at-bristol.org.uk)

Bristol Zoo, which was voted Zoo of the Year 2004, has breathtaking underwater seal and penguin coasts and Zona Brazil which simulates the coastal rainforests of South America. (0117 974 7300/www.bristolzoo.org.uk)

Other Bristol attractions include the award-winning British Empire and Commonwealth Museum, which brings to life Britain's dramatic 500-year colonial history in a very imaginable and accessible way. The fascinating (and free!) City Museum and Art Gallery features everything from Egyptology and Impressionist painting.

To get a feel of the city, hop on a harbour ferry and see Bristol from the water, or take an open-top bus tour that stops at all the major attractions.

Bath is only 12 minutes from Bristol by train, and Cardiff just a short hop across the spectacular Severn Bridge. Glastonbury, the South Cotswolds, and the Somerset countryside and coast are all within a short drive of the city.
