Zurich Airport Guide

By road
Zurich Airport is situated 11 kilometres from the city centre. Follow the signs upon leaving the airport. Count on a 15-minute ride off-peak to the central district but more than twice that time during peak traffic jams. Experienced travellers take the train.

Short and long term parking facilities are situated close to the terminal buildings.

By taxi
Whether travelling alone or as part of a group, going skiing or a city break, book your door-to-door transfers in advance with HolidayTaxis. Both shared shuttle and private transfers are available to an extensive range of destinations.

Many hotels within the airport area offer their own shuttle bus service to and from the airport. The buses wait on the drive-up between Arrivals 1 and 2.

You can book a limousine service by calling Alliance Limousines on +41 (0)43 499 62 88 / +41 (0)76 411 01 14.

By train
Trains run between Zurich main station and the airport every 10 minutes during peak periods (travel time: 10 minutes), and numerous inter-city and regional trains provide connections to all the main towns and cities in Switzerland.

Main destinations and frequency of services:
Berne, Basel, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Constance, Geneva, Lausanne, Zug: at least every 30 minutes; Lugano: every hour.

By coach
Eleven bus lines cover the region surrounding Zurich Airport, including Glattal, Zurich-Oerlikon and Winterthur (departures every 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes). The bus terminal is located behind multi-storey car parks 2 and 3. Time table information is available on the VBG website.
