Head up into the Buda hills to Normafa for some fresh air, hiking, and gorgeous views over the city. Normafa is a popular outdoor destination, and an area worth spending a few hours in. Bring a picnic lunch, or stop off at Normafa Grill for a bite to eat.

January 2013
During the first week or two in January much of the city remains closed. Take this time to stay indoors and explore some warm museums. You could start in the castle with the National Gallery, the Hospital in the Rock, the Budapest History Museum and the Military Museum.
