There's always something worthwhile at the Museum of Modern Greek Art. The permanent collection is on Hourmadiés (100 Palms) plaza in Neohóri (Tues-Sat, 9am-2pm), with annexes for temporary exhibits around the corner on Ko Street, and on Platía Sýmis in the Old Town (Mon-Fri, 9am-2pm).

The orientalised, art-deco spa at Pigés Kallithéas, one of the locations for the film The Guns of Navarone, is now a small museum and posh events venue.

March 2013
Go to Tsambíka beach, 28km from Rhodes Town, for the season's first swim. The sea bottom shelves gently, and the water is quite warm by late April.

October 2012
With the weather cooled down, take a walk on the some of the graded, Italian-era paths on wooded Profítis Ilías; afterwards, have a snack at the Eflafos Chalet-Hotel café - their homemade cakes are to die for.
