London Shopping

Luna & Curious - Quintessentially English souvenirs are the forté of this eccentric Shoreditch boutique. They stock gifts made by London designers, including a miniature Battersea Power Station, intricate paper eyelashes with petal and birds instead of long lashes, and beautiful London Willow crockery and tea sets (24-26 Calvert Avenue, E2, tel: 020 3222 0034).

Portobello Market Here's hoping that with all eyes East the usually packed pavements of Portabello may be a little more spacious this month. Along with antique shops that make granny's house look like modern minimalism, you'll find street food and vintage clothes at the very top end.

Monki (37 Carnaby Street, W1) Fans of scando clothes needn't worry about hoe to fi nd their latest fi x - Monki has arrived. The younger sibling of Cheap Monday has launched its fi rst UK store in a fl urry of bright lights, wacky interiors and a DJ-spun soundtrack. The clothes are a colourful mix of Tokyomeets-Stockholm style - sleek but fun.

Looking for an unusual souvenir of the Jubilee? Forget the jaded, faded printed tea towels and mugs and head for Shoreditch, where hipster gift shop Maiden hawk more tongue-in-cheek takes on the usual Brit-schtick. Vintage Royal Family memorabilia, dressem-up Wills and Kate paper dolls, even a solar-powered waving model of HRH herself. How very irreverent (188 Shoreditch High Street, E1).
