Unlike Prestwick Airport, Glasgow International is located very close to the city centre, so if you're on a short break to Glasgow you won't spend too much precious time travelling to your accommodation in Glasgow. The airport is only eight miles away from the numerous major attractions. The airport is located on the prime motorway network and is also served by a range of public transport options - key routes having recently been upgraded to improve service, quality and frequency.

By road
The M8 Motorway via Junction 28 gives easy access to and from the airport. The airport is about 20 minutes drive from Glasgow City Centre and about two minutes from Paisley, the nearest town. You can drop off passengers outside the terminal building, but if you want to see them off, you will need to use one of the car parks.

The short stay car park is located next to the passenger terminal. Rates vary from £2.50 for a 30 minute stay up to £15.00 for 24 hours.
The long stay car park is located on the outskirts of the airport and a courtesy coach will transfer you to the passenger terminal. You can pre-book a space in the car park by calling 0870 850 2825 (UK) or +44(0)121 410 5105 (from outside the UK).

By rail
Paisley Gilmour Street is the nearest railway station and is located just two miles from the airport. It can be reached by taxi or by the frequent local bus service which departs from the terminal forecourt.
There are direct trains from Paisley Gilmour Street to Ayr and the Clyde coast and to Glasgow Central station. Glasgow's Central and Queen Street stations offer a wide variety of rail services to destinations throughout Scotland and England. For train enquiries, telephone Tel 08457 48 49 50.
By bus
All buses depart from the terminal forecourt. There are frequent services to Glasgow City Centre (with drop off points near mainline railway stations) and Edinburgh. The journey to Glasgow City Centre is approximatley 20 minutes.
Service 500 (Glasgow Flyer Airport Express)
Services run to the city centre and Buchanan bus station every 10 minutes. Journey time to city centre is 15 minutes and 25 minutes to the bus station.
This service also calls a major city hotels, Glasgow central railway station, Strathclyde University and Queen Street railway station.
Service 757 (AirLink Direct Express)
This service also runs to the city centre and Buchanan bus station, however other stops include; the SSECC for exhibitions, conferences and concerts, Pacific Quay for the Science Centre, Glasgow central station and Queen Street railway station.
Services run every 20 minutes on weekdays, and every 30 minutes at the weekend.
Service 747 (AirLink cityService)
Buses run to the city centre, Renfrew, Braehead, Patrick and Charing Cross. Services run every 30 minutes.
