Lanzarote Shopping
The three Bookswops (two in Puerto del Carmen and one in Playa Blanca) offer new and second-hand English-language books. You can bring in your old books and part-exchange them for new ones or for store credit.
Teguise Market - Easily the island's biggest open-air market, the Sunday market in Lanzarote's former capital, Teguise, is an excursion in itself. Spend an hour or two perusing the stalls and then enjoy lunch inside one of the historic buildings.
Palm Centre - popular with both locals and visitors, this Aladdin's cave offers an eclectic selection of gifts and luxury household items (Edificio Aparthotel Los Fariones, Avenida de las Playas, Puerto del Carmen).
Take full advantage of the Canary Island's duty free status with the cut-price spirits, cigars and cigarettes available at one of the dedicated alcohol and tobacco shops found in the main resorts. Prices are often much cheaper than in the big supermarkets.
