The historic centre of Almería city is a wonderful area for a stroll. From the port promenade make your way up through the atmospheric streets, which are thronged with revellers at night, as far as the plaza - home to the old fortified cathedral. This is a great spot to stop for a drink in one of the hostelries that ring the square.
